The Enjoyment of the Lord in the Local Churches, Hortensia

I have been meeting with the local church for 5 years. I meet with the church in Orange, California. My testimony is the following:

In the past 5 years I have seen the Lord's heart's desire in the Bible. His heart's desire is to have a group of people filled with His life and nature for His expression, so they would exercise His authority on the earth (Genesis 1:26). My experience in the local churches could not be described other than a life full of enjoyment and joy. Since my oldest brother introduced me to the local church, I have enjoyed the Lord richly in many aspects, such as reading the Bible, reading the Bible prayerfully, calling the name of the Lord, and serving the Lord by serving the brothers and sisters.

I thank the Lord for granting me the privilege of reading the Word that is God's breath. When I read the Bible I enjoy the truths contained in it, and I am infused with them. By reading the Bible the Lord Jesus has become more real in my daily life and in my fellowship with other believers.

I have been blessed by practicing reading the Word prayerfully. This is like spiritual eating and drinking to me (John 6:63). By this prayerful reading, I feed on the Lord so He can grow in me. I enjoy Him in the Word with Christian brothers and sisters in the local churches.

Also, I enjoyed calling ``Oh, Lord Jesus!'' The first time, calling the name of the Lord was awkward, but the more I practiced, the more enjoyment I experienced. Calling the name of the Lord became a joy to me, whether I was alone or with other Christians in the meetings.

When I came to the local church, I realized that there are many ways of serving the Lord. Serving does not mean that I have to do great works. In the local church, the service can be so simple but at the same time so enjoyable. For instance, I may simply arrange the chairs for the meeting. I can speak for the Lord in the meetings and speak with the children of other believers so they can be introduced to the enjoyment of Christ.

I thank the Lord for bringing me to the local church which is a good environment for me to enjoy Him and to have fellowship with other brothers and sisters so together we would build one another up in love, and accomplish God's purpose on the earth.
